SnooCare

Privacy Policy

The short version

SnooCare scores your games on your iPad or Mac. Your SnooCare account stores the videos, archives, players, and tables you keep in the cloud, in the European Union, and we hold only what the app uploads for you. We run no analytics or advertising SDKs and we never sell or rent your data. Your footage is used to improve SnooCare only when you allow it, one game at a time.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the SnooCare app for iPad and Mac, its companion apps for iPhone and Apple Watch, the SnooCam camera software, and the member portal at snoocare.com. SnooCare is developed and operated by Tovi Levis, an individual in Israel, who is the controller of the personal data this policy describes. Questions go to support@snoocare.com.

Scoring happens on your device

Camera analysis and automatic scoring run on your iPad or Mac, and every game, recording, and highlight is written to the device first. Videos you save go to your device or to your Photos library. What reaches the cloud is what the app uploads to your account, described below.

Spoken scores and highlight narration use Apple's built-in voices, on your device. Your footage and game data are never sent to third-party AI services.

The app ships with a ball-detection model and can download newer ones from our servers. That download carries no personal information.

Your account

Your SnooCare account is created with Sign in with Apple. Apple gives us a user identifier and an email address, which is a private relay address if you chose to hide yours. We use the address for service notices and support, and for nothing else.

On the web you can also continue with Google where it is offered, which gives us a user identifier and your email address, or sign in with a six-digit code we email you. With a code, the address you type is how your account signs in, and we use it for that, service notices and support only. We keep the code only in a scrambled form, and it stops working after ten minutes or one use.

Plans are bought through the App Store. We keep the transaction identifiers and the status notifications Apple sends us so the app knows which plan you have. We never see your payment details.

Cloud storage

Your account stores match archives, recordings, highlight clips, still frames, your player roster, and your table profiles. Each account has its own storage bucket created in the European Union jurisdiction of Cloudflare R2, and our account database runs in Western Europe. Your files are reachable only by your signed-in devices, by you in the portal, and through links you create.

Our operator tools list your email, plan state, storage total, and training consents so we can answer support requests.

Sharing through the cloud

  • A share link makes one file playable by anyone who has the link, without signing in, for seven days.
  • Sending a game to a coach copies the files you pick into the coach's storage, and the coach's review is copied back to you.
  • A club can publish a finished game for a player to claim. Anyone with the QR code sees a thumbnail, and an unclaimed game is deleted after seven days.

Club tournaments

A club can run a tournament on SnooCare, and you can play in one with or without a plan of your own.

  • Your name on the board is public. The tournament's page shows it to anyone who has the link, with your seed, your group, your matches, their scores and your highest breaks.
  • An email address the organizer gives for your invitation, or for a referee's, is used only to send that invitation. It is never shown again, to the organizer or to anyone else; the organizer's page says only that an invitation went out.
  • The organizer and referees see how each player joined: with Apple, with Google, with an email code, or added by the club.
  • While a match is played, the club's iPad or Mac sends the live score to the tournament's page.
  • Match videos stay in the club's own storage. Only the two players, the organizer and the tournament's referees can watch them.
  • Results, the automatic checks, each player's confirmation or dispute, and the referees' decisions are kept with the tournament as its record. Deleting your account takes your name off every board: your entries read "Removed player", and their results stay.

Training on your games

You can allow SnooCare to train on a specific game. Doing so sends that game's recording together with the table calibration and ball-color profile it was scored with, and we use them to improve ball detection. Nothing is used for training without this permission.

You can withdraw permission for a game at any time in the app, and it is not used from then on.

Email we send

When a plan lapses we email you on day 10 and day 25 of the read-only window, so your files are not deleted without warning. We also email a sign-in code when you ask for one, and a tournament invitation when an organizer adds your address. We send no marketing email.

Retention and deletion

When a plan ends, your cloud files stay readable for 30 days, or 90 days when a downgrade leaves you over your new allowance, and are then deleted. Your sign-in identity and email are kept so that signing in again reaches the same account.

Deleting your account in the app removes your files, your identity, and your email, and it cannot be undone. Export your archive first if you want a copy. Local data goes with the app when you delete it.

Our servers keep request logs for a short time for troubleshooting. If you believe SnooCare holds data about you that these steps do not cover, write to support@snoocare.com and we will resolve it.

Deleting your data

You can delete your SnooCare account and everything in it whenever you like. Use Delete account on the Account page of the member portal at snoocare.com, or the same control in the app's settings. It removes your cloud files, your sign-in identity, and your email, and it cannot be undone, so export your archive first if you want a copy. Deleting the app takes the local data with it.

Disconnecting YouTube or Facebook is separate and takes effect at once. Tap Sign out in the stream destination editor and the sign-in tokens are deleted from the device. Nothing about the channel or Page is held on our servers, so there is nothing else to remove.

If you cannot reach either control, write to support@snoocare.com and we will delete the account for you.

The member portal

The portal at snoocare.com keeps your sign-in session in your browser's local storage and sets no cookies. Signing out clears it. SnooCare's own admin page, used only by our staff, sits behind Cloudflare Access, which sets one sign-in cookie for that page.

SnooCam and your local network

SnooCam streams video from a camera box to your iPad or Mac over your own local network, protected by a pairing code. That video stays on your network. The iPhone and Apple Watch companions likewise talk to the iPad or Mac directly when they share its network.

When the phone is on another network, it reaches the iPad or Mac through the SnooCare relay. Every message is encrypted on the two devices, with a key only they hold. The relay can see that a SnooCare is online, which IP addresses connect, when, and how much data moves. It cannot read names, scores or commands, and it keeps none of them.

Live streaming

When you start a live stream, SnooCare sends your video directly from your iPad or Mac to the destination you configured with a stream key, such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, or a custom RTMP or SRT server. What happens to the video there is governed by that service's own terms and privacy policy. SnooCare does not receive a copy.

The same applies to anything you export or share yourself: videos saved to Photos, drill files you send to other people, and streams you point at your own servers.

Signing in to YouTube or Facebook

You can connect a YouTube channel or a Facebook Page so SnooCare can start a broadcast for you. When you do, SnooCare uses the YouTube API Services, and for Facebook Meta's Graph API, to read the channel's or Page's name and picture and to create and bind a live broadcast on your behalf.

The sign-in tokens Google or Meta issue stay in the keychain of the iPad or Mac you signed in on. They are sent only to Google's or Meta's own servers when SnooCare talks to them. SnooCare's servers never receive them, and SnooCare stores nothing about your channel or Page in your SnooCare account.

Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy, and by using the YouTube connection you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Meta's is the Meta Privacy Policy.

To disconnect, tap Sign out in the stream destination editor, which deletes the tokens from the device. You can also revoke SnooCare's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions or, for Facebook, under Settings, Apps and Websites.

Children

SnooCare is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If SnooCare's data handling changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised before the change takes effect.
